Vestine and Dorcas set a new record in Rwandan Gospel music, reaching one million views in just five days with 'Yebo [Nitawale]'

On March 5, 2025, top Rwandan Gospel artists Vestine and Dorcas released their new song Yebo [Nitawale].

In just five days, the song had already surpassed one million views on YouTube, making it the first-ever Gospel song by female artists in Rwanda to reach such a milestone in such a short time.

This is a historic achievement because, although several Gospel artists have reached millions of views on their songs, no female artists had ever reached one million views in just five days.

The only artists who previously achieved this in Rwanda were Meddy with Ni yo Ndirimbo featuring Adrien Misigaro, but they are not female artists. Another artist, Israel Mbonyi, also achieved remarkable milestones, but his song Nina Siri, despite gaining great momentum, took longer to reach its first million compared to Yebo [Nitawale] by Vestine and Dorcas.

A song built on a powerful message
Yebo (Nitawale) is based on Isaiah 42:13, where the Lord declares that He will fight with zeal like a warrior, raise His voice, and remove all evil. This is the core theme of the song, showcasing God’s power in overcoming life’s trials.
In the music video, Vestine and Dorcas appear dressed in security uniforms, symbolizing the commitment to righteousness and the responsibility of being God’s servants in everyday life.

Some of the lyrics in the song include:
• "Mwokozi wangu nakuhitaji Zaidi"
("My Savior, I need you more")
• "Na moyo wangu unalilia uwepo wako"
("And my heart longs for your presence")
• "Nitawale sasa"
("Now take control of me")
• "Hata milele bwana"
("Even forever, Lord")
• "Overpower all of me the way you truly desire"
("Take over all of me as you truly desire")

Expanding to the international market
Vestine and Dorcas are already well-established names in Gospel music, with popular songs like Nahawe Ijambo, Simpagarara, Iriba, Adonai, and more. They have also released songs in other languages, including Neema, a Swahili song released in July 2024. These songs have been watched by millions, proving that their music appeals to a global audience beyond Rwanda.

Vestine, who recently got married, continues her musical journey with dedication, and this new song highlights their commitment to serving God through music while aiming for greater heights in the Gospel industry.

Reaching one million views in such a short period is a clear sign that their artistry is at a high level and is continuously growing. Their fans have shown overwhelming support for this song, and many believe it will continue to take them to international stages.

Enjoy the masterpiece ’Yebo [Nitawale]’ again!

Vestine and Dorcas have officially made history as the first female Gospel artists in Rwanda to hit one million views in just five days with a song.
