The Power of the Gospel – Pastor Christian Gisanura

On June 17, 2026, Pastor Christian Gisanura delivered a message titled "The Power of the Gospel," encouraging believers to embrace their responsibility of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Drawing from Romans 1:15–17, he emphasized that the Gospel is the power of God for salvation and that every Christian is called to proclaim it.

Quoting the Apostle Paul, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes," Pastor Gisanura challenged the common belief that evangelism is reserved for pastors or spiritually mature Christians.

He explained that every person who has received Christ carries the message of salvation and has the responsibility to share it with others.

"To preach the Gospel is to take the message you have received and deliver it to those for whom it is intended. Everyone who has Christ Jesus has the Spirit who gives life, and that life is meant to bring life to others," he said.

Reflecting on Paul’s statement that the Gospel is for both Jews and Gentiles, Pastor Gisanura encouraged Christians to begin sharing their faith with the people closest to them before reaching those farther away.

He stressed that a believer’s lifestyle is itself a message, explaining that the way Christians dress, speak, behave, and relate to others reflects the God they serve.

He also referred to Jesus’ teaching that what defiles a person is not what enters them but what comes out of their heart, noting that a person’s actions reveal the condition of their heart.

"The way you dress, speak, work, and live is a message. If you call yourself a Christian, every day you are either preaching the Gospel or sending a different message through your lifestyle," he explained.

Pastor Gisanura warned against being ashamed of publicly identifying with Christ. He said that many believers hesitate to express their faith because they fear how others will perceive them.

"If you are not ashamed to call your earthly parents your father and mother, why should you be ashamed to identify yourself as someone who belongs to God? Paul declared that he was not ashamed of the Gospel. If your identity in Christ embarrasses you, then it is time to examine your faith," he said.

He further explained that the Gospel is the source of a Christian’s strength because God works through His people to reach others. According to him, the purpose of every believer’s life should be to help others come to know God and receive His gift of salvation.

Pastor Gisanura also reminded the congregation that everyone has a unique way of sharing the Gospel. He noted that one does not need a large platform, public recognition, or church leadership position to become God’s messenger.

"Share the Gospel in the way God has entrusted to you. God has called us to be channels through which His message flows. We are not the destination of the message—we are His messengers," he said.

As he concluded, Pastor Gisanura emphasized that God continues to extend His patience and mercy, giving people time to repent while also calling believers to use their gifts to proclaim Christ instead of hiding them.

The message, delivered as the "Gift of the Day" on June 17, 2026, challenged Christians to recognize that their lives are a living testimony and that every believer has a God-given responsibility to share the life-changing message of salvation with the world.
