The secret to overcoming fear and anxiety lies in receiving the Helper who gives true peace. This was the central message shared by Pastor Christian Gisanura on May 1, 2026.
Continuing his teaching series aimed at helping people conquer fear and anxiety, Pastor Gisanura focused on John 14:26–27, emphasizing that the solution to many of life’s struggles is found in receiving the Holy Spirit as our Helper.
He explained that these words were spoken by Jesus as He prepared His disciples for His departure, assuring them that although He would no longer be physically present, they would not be left alone. Instead, they would receive a powerful spiritual Helper.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said to you.”
Pastor Gisanura highlighted that the coming of the Holy Spirit brought a transformative shift to the world. While Jesus was physically one person, His departure led to the multiplication of His presence through believers filled with the Holy Spirit.
“Before ascending to heaven, Jesus fought Satan alone. But after He left, He sent many ‘Jesuses’… and Satan found himself surrounded and defeated,” he said.
Using the analogy of a board game, he illustrated how Jesus allowed Himself to be “taken” on the cross as part of a greater strategy to defeat Satan and empower believers through the Holy Spirit.
Drawing from his personal testimony, Pastor Gisanura shared how the Holy Spirit helped him in everyday life, especially in his education.
After spending 11 years without studying, he found it difficult to catch up academically. However, after turning to prayer and seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit, he experienced remarkable progress.
“I prayed and asked for that Helper… and within just three months, I was able to study material that normally takes three years,” he testified.
He used this example to stress that the Holy Spirit is not only a spiritual guide but also a practical Helper in daily life—assisting in studies, work, and decision-making.
In his message, he emphasized the importance of accepting Jesus in order to receive the Holy Spirit. “If you do not have Jesus, this is your moment to give Him your life. He will give you the Helper,” he said.
He added that the Holy Spirit helps in every area of life, whether dealing with poverty, illness, addiction, or any other challenge.
Reflecting on verse 27, Pastor Gisanura reminded believers of Jesus’ promise of true peace: “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you… Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid.”
He explained that the peace Jesus gives is different from the world’s peace. It is not based on money, jobs, or relationships, but on a deep connection with God that brings inner calm regardless of circumstances.
In conclusion, he led a prayer asking for the Holy Spirit to fill every heart: “Lord Jesus, I lack peace… may the Helper fill my heart and give me peace.”
He closed by reaffirming that the key to overcoming fear and anxiety is walking with the Holy Spirit, who leads believers into God’s purpose for their lives.
This fifth day’s message left a powerful reminder for Christians: in a world full of uncertainty, there is a Helper who never abandons us and who leads us into truth, peace, and victory.
