“Do not fear, for I am with you,” was the central message emphasized by Pastor Christian Gisanura on April 30, 2026, during the fourth day of his teaching series titled “Overcoming Fear and Anxiety.”
He began by giving glory to Jesus, saying, “May our Lord Jesus continue to be glorified at all times.” He explained that the solution to every challenge people face lies in trusting that God is always with them.
Drawing from Isaiah 41:10, he highlighted God’s powerful promise to believers: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
He further explained that this message is reinforced in the verses that follow, where God promises victory over enemies and protection for those who trust in Him. These scriptures all point to one central truth: there is no need to fear when God is with us.
Pastor Gisanura emphasized that the command “do not fear” requires one key thing—faith. He illustrated this with a simple example of a child who cries when the mother is absent but calms down immediately upon seeing her.
“The child becomes calm because they trust that as long as their parent is present, they are safe and their needs will be met,” he said.
He encouraged believers to adopt the same childlike faith—trusting God fully and without doubt. “Let us be like little children, trusting that our Father is present. Let go of worry, sorrow, and tears,” he urged.
He stressed that God is not distant, but very near—indeed, present within anyone who has Christ: “Let me tell you: your God is here, He lives within you if you have Christ.”
According to him, the real issue is not the absence of God, but a lack of faith in His presence and power. He warned against giving space to fear and anxiety, as they weaken faith:
“When you lose hope, you deny God in your heart and in your thoughts.”
He added that faith is what allows God to act in a person’s life: “God works according to what we believe about Him. If you pray without faith, God does not respond.”
To make this clearer, he used the analogy of a technician with a fully equipped toolbox. Just as a mechanic trusts his tools, a believer should trust God completely: “God is like a toolbox… He has every solution.”
This means there is no problem without a solution in God—yet that solution becomes visible only through faith.
He reaffirmed God’s promise: “I will strengthen you… surely I will help you.” Even when people feel alone, he explained, God never abandons them: “There are times God may allow you to feel alone, but He is always ready to come to your rescue.”
He reminded listeners that God has always given strength to overcome challenges, just as He did for biblical figures like Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who faced many trials but prevailed through faith.
In conclusion, Pastor Gisanura called on believers to love God and make Him known to others: “If you have come to know Him, make Him known.”
He ended with a prayer, thanking God for His strength and asking Him to help people overcome fear and anxiety: “Father, we thank You for strengthening us and helping us overcome fear, anxiety, and the plans of the enemy.”
The message of Day 4 strongly emphasizes that overcoming fear and anxiety is impossible without faith in God’s presence. When one truly accepts this truth, they realize they are not alone—God is with them, powerful and ever-present.
Do not fear. God is with you. Shalom!
