On February 9, 2026, Pastor Christian Gisanura continued his February teaching series, aimed at helping Christians truly understand their identity in Christ.
This session, titled “You Are Spirit,” emphasized that a believer is not merely a physical being but a spirit working in harmony with God’s Spirit. Pastor Gisanura reminded his audience that when a person accepts Jesus, they also receive the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God dwelling within them.
The presence of the Holy Spirit enables believers to embody God’s emotions—love, compassion, goodness, patience, generosity, and obedience. When the Holy Spirit operates within a person, He guides their feelings, thoughts, and decisions every day.
Drawing from Acts 16:6-10, Pastor Gisanura explained how the Holy Spirit leads believers—sometimes preventing them from speaking or going to certain places, and at other times directing them toward new opportunities.
For example, Paul and his companions were prevented by the Spirit from preaching in Asia and directed instead to Macedonia, showing that God sometimes says “No” and sometimes “Yes,” all according to His perfect plan.
He addressed a common challenge: just because something seems good does not mean it aligns with God’s will. A believer may desire a place to go, a relationship, or an opportunity, yet the Holy Spirit may guide them away for their protection. Pastor Gisanura emphasized that unease, hesitation, or inner resistance can often be the emotions of God guiding us.
The pastor illustrated this principle with a personal testimony. When he unexpectedly received more money than agreed upon, he obeyed the Spirit’s guidance to give generously to a struggling preacher. That very day, a longstanding problem in his life was resolved miraculously. Pastor Gisanura reflected:
“Obeying God’s will and giving without holding back opens doors you could never imagine.”
He also highlighted that God can communicate through dreams, as seen with Paul in Acts 16:9, where a vision of a Macedonian man calling for help prompted Paul to move to Macedonia. This teaches Christians that when the Holy Spirit speaks, action must follow.
Pastor Gisanura shared another personal testimony of when he was stopped from attending a wedding. Though he initially resisted, he later realized that God’s guidance prevented potential harm. This reminds believers that obeying the Holy Spirit protects them from unnecessary suffering, especially in matters of relationships and future decisions.
In conclusion, he urged Christians not to ignore the emotions of God at work within them, as these guide, teach, protect, and open doors for them. Believers are encouraged to discern between God’s emotions, their own feelings, and reactions influenced by circumstances, to recognize when God is speaking.
The key message on February 9, 2026, was clear: “Know that you are Spirit. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your emotions, thoughts, and decisions, because wherever God’s Spirit leads, His blessings and purpose are revealed.”
