Fans responded with overwhelming joy, some sang along to every word, others clapped, danced, or even wept as the music and message moved them. The concert became not only an album launch but a celebration of faith, unity, and cultural pride.
One of the most memorable moments of the evening was when Mbonyi surprised the audience by performing in a traditional Kinyarwanda “umushanana” attire during his song “Uriya.” This gesture touched many, symbolizing dignity, heritage, and reverence for Rwandan culture within gospel music.
Attendees described the concert as one of the most organized and spiritually uplifting events Mbonyi has ever held in his 11-year music career. The sound, lighting, and stage setup were praised for being top-tier, while the concert’s spiritual depth left many feeling inspired and transformed.
Among the notable guests in attendance were public figures and music professionals like Massamba Intore, Kenny Mugarura (CEO of 1:55 AM music label), Muyoboke Alex, Rene Patrick and his wife Tracy Agasaro, and many others.
Pastor Jimmy Muyango delivered a powerful message based on Luke 15:4, emphasizing the extraordinary love of the Father, resonating with the album’s overarching message.
In his heartfelt speech, Israel Mbonyi expressed deep gratitude to his vocalists and support team, saying: “These are God’s servants. I rarely change the people I work with. Over the past six years, they have been a blessing, and we’ve made four albums together. I also want to thank you, the fans, for showing up every time we call. Your joy gives life to the music. I cannot forget to thank my parents, too.”
Fans were left deeply impressed. One attendee told InyaRwanda: “The way Mbonyi appeared in a traditional outfit and how he organized everything made us leave the concert full of joy and spiritually nourished.”
As the concert concluded, it was clear that “Hobe” had left a mark, ushering in a new era for Mbonyi’s ministry. He continues to be a powerful figure in Rwanda’s gospel scene, not just as a musician but as a spiritual leader through song.
Looking ahead, Mbonyi has already announced another major concert set for Christmas Day, promising yet another unforgettable worship experience.
