Rubavu: Pastor Shekinah to host major conference titled "Ubuzima Bufite Intego”

A major gospel conference titled “Ubuzima Bufite Intego” (A Purposeful Life) is set to take place in Rubavu District, Rwanda, organized by Pastor Shekinah Keza, who has invited well-known gospel artists including Elie Bahati, famous for his song “Nzakomeza Nkwizere”.

The conference is scheduled for 2–3 May 2026 and will be held at Zion Temple Rubavu, starting daily at 2:00 PM. It is expected to bring together believers from different regions for a time of worship, teaching, and spiritual renewal.

Speaking about the event, Pastor Shekinah Keza said the conference is a personal vision rooted in her upbringing in Rubavu and her spiritual connection with Bishop Gakunde Felix. She explained that the theme is inspired by Philippians 3:14, emphasizing a life of direction and divine purpose.

“This conference is meant to remind Christians that they should live purposeful lives guided by God, not by the opinions of others,” she said.

She further warned against what she described as a growing trend where some believers rely heavily on spiritual leaders for personal decisions.

“Many Christians today want pastors or prophets to make decisions for their lives. This leads them to lose direction instead of allowing God to guide them personally,” she added.

The conference will feature several worship leaders and ministers, including Elie Bahati, Tresor Nguweneza, Rachel, Prince, and Asaph Worship Team, while the Word of God will be shared by Pastor Shekinah Keza alongside Bishop Gakunde Felix.

Pastor Shekinah recently made headlines after being warmly surprised at Kigali International Airport in Kanombe on 23 April 2026. The emotional moment involved a testimony from a supporter who credited her teachings on TikTok for transforming their life.

The individual, who lost both parents during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, shared a deeply emotional message describing how Pastor Shekinah’s online ministry restored their faith and hope.

“You restored my hope to live and gave me signs of God in my life. After the genocide, I felt God did not exist, but through your teachings I now believe again,” the message read in part.

The testimony also expressed gratitude for healing, restoration, and answered prayers, describing Pastor Shekinah as a “spiritual mother” figure who brought comfort and faith back into their life.

“You became a mother to me in my heart. God connected us through TikTok and removed the distance between us,” the message continued.

The upcoming Rubavu conference is expected to focus on helping Christians understand their divine purpose, strengthen their faith, and make life decisions grounded in biblical principles.

Organizers say the event will be open to all believers and is expected to draw large crowds, given Pastor Shekinah’s growing influence and the popularity of the invited gospel ministers.

With worship, teaching, and testimonies expected to shape the two-day gathering, “Ubuzima Bufite Intego” is anticipated to be one of the significant gospel events in Rwanda in 2026.

The concert is expected to bring together believers from different regions for a time of worship, teaching, and spiritual renewal.
