On Monday, May 18, 2026, Pastor Christian Gisanura spoke about the signs of the end times and the importance of remaining spiritually alert.
Pastor Gisanura said that people should pay attention to the times the world is currently going through and understand how they ought to live, because the prophecies spoken by Apostle Paul in the Holy Scriptures are gradually being fulfilled today.
In his sermon, Pastor Gisanura reflected on the words found in 2 Timothy 3, where Paul warned that in the last days there would be difficult times, with people becoming lovers of money, selfish, disobedient to parents, deceitful and opposed to goodness.
The passage says: “But understand this, that in the last days terrible times will come. For people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful and unholy.
They will be without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal and not lovers of good. They will be treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.
Having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. Among them are those who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak women burdened with sins and led astray by various desires, always learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
He also referred to 2 Timothy 3:16, which says: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”
After reading the passage, Pastor Gisanura said that what Paul prophesied closely resembles what is happening in the world today.
“All these things are among us today. We see them everywhere. Some people have the appearance of being saved, but they are pretending. They go to church, attend fellowships and read the Bible, yet their lives do not reflect what they claim,” he said.
He added that there are people who appear righteous outwardly while their lifestyles contradict what they preach or teach. He gave examples of unfaithful husbands, people controlled by lust, and others who constantly attend church but fail to practice what they learn.
“They are always learning, yet they fail to live according to what they learn,” he said.
Pastor Gisanura explained that these are among the signs of the end times that Paul described from verse one to seven in 2 Timothy chapter three.
He also emphasized verse 16, which teaches that all Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, correcting and transforming people.
According to Pastor Gisanura, it is the Word of God that changes a person, rather than people spending their time hating or judging others.
“Do not hate people. You will only destroy yourself. It is the Word of God that transforms a person,” he said.
He further warned believers against hatred and against rejecting members of their own families, saying that Satan is working intensely because he knows his time is short.
As he concluded the sermon, Pastor Gisanura explained that righteousness should not be based on someone’s church title, popularity or talent, but on genuine love for God.
“If you truly love God, you will love what He loves, you will love His Word, and you will love righteousness,” he said.
He encouraged Christians to work together with Jesus in helping transform people so they may not perish, reminding them that Jesus died so humanity could receive salvation.
