On the second day of the three-day prayer gathering dedicated to walking with Jesus, Pastor Christian Gisanura continued to highlight the importance of prayer and obedience to God’s Word.
He reminded the congregation that asking God to walk with us daily is essential. Pastor Gisanura urged believers to open their hearts so that Jesus may come in and share in their joys, struggles, sorrows, weaknesses, and victories of everyday life.
Quoting Revelation 3:20, he said: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
He explained that the “door” Jesus refers to is the human heart, and welcoming Him in brings true joy, inner peace, and the strength to overcome sin and life’s challenges.
Pastor Gisanura also reminded Christians that no one can overcome sin by their own strength—they need God’s support. Obedience to His commands, he said, is the pathway to lasting joy.
He went on to cite John 15:10-14, teaching that loving God and keeping His commandments leads to complete love and true joy:
“If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.” (John 15:10)
“I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” (John 15:11)
“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” (John 15:12) “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13)
“You are my friends if you do what I command.” (John 15:14)
He emphasized that loving one another, valuing our friends, and extending love as Christ loved us leads to a life of peace, fulfillment, and true happiness. Real joy, he said, comes only from obeying God’s Word and walking closely with Jesus Christ.
The second day of prayer was therefore filled with teachings that encouraged everyone to seek deeper fellowship with God and to continually ask Him to walk with them in their daily lives.
