Esther’s Hope is an international non government organization registered in Uganda and USA.
As a child, I fled war in the Democratic Republic of Congo. As a teenager, I was resettled as a refugee by Bethany Christian Services in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a young adult, I spent a lot of time praying, thanking God for changing and blessing my life.
My parents had taught me about God, prayer, fasting, and the simple life. After finishing high school I began working as a Certified Nursing Assistant. When I started the job, I said to God, “I will help kids in Africa with their education”.
During the war in Congo, I was separated from many family members and later found my youngest sister had fled to Uganda. I knew that the schools there were hard for them to access quality education. I then decided and committed to a portion of my salary to help vulnerable children in Uganda access an education.
I felt strongly that education would be a bridge to better futures. I began by helping ten students who were not going to school. That number increased to 25. The children’s families face hardships while some only having a mother or no parent at all. For two and a half years, I sent $1,000 every three months to Uganda.
With donations, I was able to help more students. The number of students increased from 25 to 300. Later that year, I visited Uganda to see for myself what God was doing.
In 2019, I prayed that God could provide a location for EHFC in Uganda. We began the construction of a school building in 2020. We now have an address in Uganda!

The vision of Esther’s Hope
Dream it. And Pray
Esther was sponsoring her younger sisters to attend school in Uganda. Soon after hearing of the vulnerability of their peers, she found herself sponsoring 8 more students. Then Esther had a dream to reach more children and offer hope in an education.
Build it. And Pray.
It all begins with an idea. Instead of sponsorship, why not build a school? In 2020, Esther and her husband, Moses, self funded the building of Esther’s Hope Nursery (Pre-K) and Primary School. A private Christian school offering free education to the communities most vulnerable children.
Grow it. And Pray.
Our vision is to grow as our students grow. Currently, we offer education through the 3rd grade. With donor support, we will continue to add a classroom until the day we see our students enter at nursery age and move on into the world as young adults .
Education Opens Doors. Open Doors Offer Opportunity.
Esther’s Hope Nursery and Primary School is located in Mbarara, Uganda. We offer free education and a nutritional program for over 300 local students. Student eligibility is based on having no surviving parent (orphan), having only one living parent, or extreme economic hardship. Our mission is to provide quality education resulting in futures which equitable opportunities.
Our staff include our headmaster, teachers, school counselor and a school nurse are dedicated to providing a space for children to learn. As a private Christian school our staff demonstrate the love of God for all His children.
“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” - Jeremiah 29:11
