Meddy says following Christ transformed his life as he prepares new Gospel projects

After months of limited musical activity, Rwandan singer known as Meddy, has finally explained why fans have not been seeing him release music as frequently as before

Rwandan Gospel singer Meddy (Ngabo Medard Jobert) has opened up about why he has been quiet musically in recent months, saying his focus has been on growing in faith, raising his family, and preparing Gospel projects that reflect his new life in Christ

Speaking in a recent interview, Meddy explained that his absence should not be mistaken for inactivity. Instead, he said he has been taking time to seek God while working on music that carries a clear message of hope and salvation.

"I haven’t disappeared," he said. "What I’m preparing is greater than anything I have done before. My path has changed, and it has changed for the better."

The singer emphasized that his decision to dedicate his career entirely to Gospel music was not simply a change in musical style but the result of a personal transformation through Jesus Christ.

According to Meddy, true Christianity begins with a changed heart before it is reflected in songs or public ministry.

"The change started within me," he explained. "When Christ changes your life, everything else begins to change too—your desires, your thinking, and your purpose."

He also revealed that family has become one of his biggest priorities. Meddy said he intentionally stepped back from frequent performances to spend valuable time with his young children, believing that those early years cannot be replaced.

As his children continue to grow, he now feels ready to return with new Gospel music and a major worship concert that he says will glorify God.

Beyond music, Meddy used the opportunity to encourage people who have not yet surrendered their lives to Christ. He stressed that no earthly success can replace a genuine relationship with God.

"God is real," he said. "Whether someone accepts that today or not, everyone will one day stand before Him. The best decision is to know Him now."

The Gospel minister also extended a message to fellow artists, saying he is willing to support anyone who desires to use their gifts to serve God. He encouraged believers to remain faithful despite challenges, expressing confidence that a life surrendered to Christ brings lasting peace and purpose.

Meddy’s upcoming projects are expected to mark a new chapter in his ministry, with a stronger emphasis on worship, discipleship, and proclaiming the Gospel through music.

Meddy made these remarks during an interview with B&B Kigali FM aired on July 4, 2026, where he reflected on his transformation through Christ, explained why he has been away from releasing music, and shared details about the Gospel projects and worship concert he is preparing.
