“Yeye”: Harmonize's New Song Released on Easter, A Deep Spiritual Testimony Beyond Religion

As Christians around the world celebrated Easter — a day symbolizing resurrection, new hope, and divine love — Tanzanian Bongo Flava star Harmonize released a heartfelt new song titled “Yeye”, which took many by surprise.

Not only because of its touching spiritual message, but also because it came from a man who openly identifies as a Muslim, yet chose this sacred Christian holiday to unveil such a deeply personal expression of faith.

Just hours after dropping the track, Harmonize posted a message that resonated with thousands. He wrote: “HAPPY EASTER MY CHRISTIAN FRIENDS!!! REMEMBER THIS: UTACHELEWA KWA KILA YEYOTE ILA SIO KWAKE YEYE. HATA WENGINE WANAPO KUCHEKA, USISAHAU YUPO ALIYE LIPANGA LOLOTE LINALOKUFIKA!! HAKOSEI HANA MAKOSA!”

(“You might be late for anyone, but never for Him — Yeye. Even when others laugh at you, never forget that there is One who already designed your path. He never makes mistakes!”)

The Swahili word “Yeye”, which translates to “Him”, refers to God in this context. Through this powerful declaration, Harmonize emphasizes that remembering and thanking God is the first and most essential remedy for every problem:

“KUMKUMBUKA YEYE NA KUMSHUKURU YEYE NI TIBA YA KWANZA KWENYE KILA TATIZO!”
(“Remembering and thanking Him is the first cure for every struggle!”)

Not Just a Song — A Real-Life Story and a Spiritual Awakening
In his statement, Harmonize revealed that the song was inspired by the real-life story of a woman named Nicole Joy Berry, who allowed him to use her true story as a foundation for this track. He humbly thanked her and encouraged people to pray for her, saying:

“Even though we don’t know what the future holds for her, what she did is an act of rare love in our community. Let’s all pray for her”

Harmonize went on to say that many people are silently suffering, going through heavy emotional battles, and not everyone is ready to expose their wounds to the world. Through Nicole’s courage, he found the strength to tell his own story — and hopes others will be inspired to reconnect with God as well:

“NAAMINI WENGI TUTAJIFUNZA NA HATIMAE KUMKUMBUKA MUNGU KUPITIA HUUU WIMBO!”
(“I believe many will learn from this and eventually remember God through this song!”)

“Yeye”: From Darkness to Light
The song is a raw and honest reflection on Harmonize’s personal struggles — moments of addiction, loneliness, rejection, and even thoughts of death. He shares how chasing temporary pleasures and public validation left him empty, until he reconnected with the one constant: God.

Despite being a Muslim, Harmonize bridges the spiritual gap by reminding listeners that God’s love transcends religion, culture, or background. “Yeye” is an invitation to everyone — Christian, Muslim, or otherwise — to find peace in a higher power, especially when the world falls apart.

The lyrics, laced with emotion and soul, are backed by soft, melodic Bongo Flava rhythms. The result is not just a song, but a testimony that speaks directly to anyone who’s ever felt lost but held on to faith.

Music as a Spiritual Language Beyond Religion
Harmonize proves that music can be a universal tool for healing, unity, and reflection. While Easter is traditionally Christian, his decision to release this song during such a sacred time reflects how divine inspiration can come to — and through — anyone. Faith, after all, is about connection, not labels.

“MUNGU AWABARIKI SANAA. HAPPY EASTER ONE MORE TIME!”
(“God bless you so much. Happy Easter once again!”)

“Yeye” stands out as one of Harmonize’s most vulnerable and spiritual pieces. It’s not just an artistic project — it’s a personal prayer wrapped in melody. Whether you’re Christian, Muslim, or just a seeker of peace, this song offers a powerful reminder: God is always there, even when no one else is.
