In a world filled with uncertainty, chaos, and moral confusion, every young man and woman should pause for a moment and ask themselves a deep, reflective question: “Why am I still alive?”
Many people our age are no longer here, they died through accidents, sickness, or bad decisions. Yet, somehow, we are still alive. Why? What does that mean?
Life is not just about breathing and existing. It’s about understanding purpose. Many youths today live without direction, wasting time on meaningless pleasures, addictions, and relationships that destroy rather than build.
Some have lost themselves in pride, greed, or sexual immorality. Others chase fame and money, forgetting the values that make life truly worth living. This moral decay is one of the reasons so many young lives end too soon.
But if you are still alive, it means God still has a plan for you. You are not an accident. You are not here just to follow trends or live like everyone else. You are here because Heaven still expects something from you, a mission to fulfill, a light to shine, a voice to be heard. Every day you wake up is a reminder that your story isn’t over.
So what should you do with this gift of life? Honor God. Make choices that bring Him glory. Live in a way that shows gratitude for the breath He allows you to take each morning. Use your youth to serve others, to grow in wisdom, and to prepare for the purpose He designed for you.
When you realize that you’re still alive because God wants you to be, life becomes sacred. You stop comparing yourself to others. You stop living carelessly. You start living intentionally — with humility, love, and faith.
So today, ask yourself again: “Why am I still alive?”
If the answer leads you closer to God, then you are on the right path.
Ecclesiastes 9:5-6, 10 (NWT)
5 For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all, nor do they have any more reward, because all memory of them is forgotten.
6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they no longer have any share in what is done under the sun.
10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do with all your might, for there is no work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the Grave, where you are going.
