Alicia and Germaine are two biological sisters from Rubavu District in Rwanda’s Western Province, where they were born and raised. They are a gospel worship duo who have steadily risen in the Rwandan Christian music scene, known for their spiritual depth, vocal harmony, and commitment to serving God through music.
As sisters, their bond goes beyond family ties—it is reflected in their unity of vision, faith, values, and musical purpose. Their shared upbringing has shaped their artistic identity and strengthened their collaboration as worship ministers rather than entertainers.
They are devoted Christians and active members of ADEPR Ruhangira Church, having grown up in a God-fearing family that nurtured and respected children’s talents.
Singing has been part of their daily lives since childhood, both at home and in church. They testify that music was not a forced career choice, but a natural gift that revealed itself progressively and became a calling.
The duo is made up of Alicia Ufitimana, the elder sister, a medical student at the University of Rwanda – Huye Campus. Despite the demanding nature of her studies, Alicia affirms that she will never abandon music, as she considers it a divine mission and a channel through which lives can be touched and transformed. Her academic journey has helped her develop discipline and balance between studies and ministry.
Her younger sister, Germaine Ufitimana, is a student in Languages and Literature at Groupe Notre Dame d’Afrique de Nyundo in Rubavu District. Though academic responsibilities limited her participation in some earlier musical activities such as choirs, her passion for singing never faded and remains central to her life.
Alicia and Germaine believe worship music is not merely for entertainment but a responsibility to spread the Gospel. They see gospel music as a tool for comforting the brokenhearted, strengthening the weary, and reaching people who may not always find time for prayer or Bible study. To them, music is a powerful language that reaches the heart effortlessly.
Their musical journey is strongly supported by their family. Their father, Innocent Ufitimana, serves as their manager and artistic guide. With a background in music himself, he understands their talents and helps direct them with wisdom and purpose. The family’s support—spiritually, emotionally, and artistically—has been instrumental in shaping their path.
They emphasize that choosing gospel music was intentional, not accidental. Despite the availability of many musical genres, they chose worship because it is where they find peace, spiritual security, and fulfillment.
Although they had been singing for years, it was in 2022 that they made a deliberate decision to enter the studio and pursue music publicly as a divine calling rather than a casual talent.
Their debut song, “Urufatiro”, marked the official beginning of their public ministry.
Released on April 17, 2024, Urufatiro quickly touched many hearts through its high-quality visuals and powerful message. Some viewers initially mistook them for Vestine & Dorcas due to their sisterhood and similar styling. The outfit choice, clarified later, was selected by their mother to suit the song’s message and filming location—not to imitate anyone.
The song was written by their father, Ufitimana Innocent, who also guided them through its meaning. Urufatiro became their breakthrough, clearly defining their spiritual direction and mission.
Following its success, they released “Rugaba”, affirming Christ as the sovereign King over heaven and earth.
They continued with “Wa Mugabo”, released on December 18, 2024, ushering believers into 2025 with hope and worship.
Written by the sisters themselves and produced by ABA Music, the song portrays Jesus as a defender who intervenes without being asked.
They later released “Ihumure”, a song of comfort for those going through hardship.
On June 5, 2025, they released “Uri Yo”, co-written with Niyo Bosco. This became their most viewed song, surpassing 851,000 views on YouTube.
They followed with “Ndahiriwe” on August 27, 2025, a thanksgiving song written by Alicia, Germaine, and their father.
In January 2026, they released “Ibendera”, a gospel Amapiano song with a strong declaration of faith.
The song features drones, horses, and dancers from the University of Rwanda – Huye Campus, giving it an international feel while maintaining a deep gospel message.
Within just one year, Alicia and Germaine won Best Gospel Artist at Rubavu Music Awards 2025. They now have over 80,000 YouTube subscribers, making them the leading unmarried female gospel duo in ADEPR.
Despite their success, they remain committed to their education and continue to inspire youth by proving that talent, education, and service to God can coexist.
Their ultimate goal is to become international gospel artists, carrying the message of Christ beyond borders.
