Pastor Christian Gisanura said that a person who trusts in God should not be intimidated by problems, people, or difficult seasons of life, because all those things eventually come to an end, while God remains forever and is able to strengthen those who rely on Him.
In a teaching he delivered on May 22, 2026, Pastor Gisanura based his message on Isaiah 51:11-13, emphasizing that God Himself is the one who comforts His people and that there is no reason to fear human beings or the situations one may be going through.
He read the verse saying: “Who are you that you fear mortal man, the son of man who is but grass?” explaining that every challenge people face is temporary and should not be given power to discourage them.
Pastor Gisanura said that the world people live in is full of struggles and that no one lives without facing challenges, even those who appear peaceful on the outside.
He mentioned that some people struggle with financial difficulties, family conflicts, workplace problems, sickness, or betrayal, but none of these should cause a person to lose hope.
He said: “When people become discouraged, they stop fighting. A person who accepts defeat removes their own protection. God comes to lift us up again and remind us that we still have Him.”
He also reflected on the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, saying that many survivors never imagined they would survive or that the painful season would ever end, yet God strengthened them until those dark times passed.
According to him, remembering such history is important because it reminds people that even the hardest seasons eventually come to an end. He said: “Everything that has a beginning also has an end.”
Pastor Gisanura explained that fear causes people to forget God and can even pull them away from His purpose. He gave the example of the prophet Elijah, who once performed great miracles but later became afraid of Jezebel and fled.
He said: “Elijah became so afraid that God told him his mission was coming to an end. If you continue living in fear, you too can remove yourself from God’s plan.”
He added that the only way to overcome fear is by drawing closer to God and accepting that true comfort comes from Him rather than from money or people.
He said: “It is not people, and it is not money — God Himself is the one who comforts us. You may have been betrayed or lost everything, but God still says, ‘Take courage.’”
In conclusion, Pastor Christian Gisanura encouraged people to remain strong and refuse to lose hope even during difficult times, reminding them that those who trust in God receive strength to overcome every trial.
He concluded by saying: “Today I came to tell you: be encouraged and stay strong.”
Isaiah 51:11 “So the redeemed of the Lord shall return, And come to Zion with singing,
With everlasting joy upon their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”
Isaiah 51:12-13 “I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid of a mortal man who will die, Or of the son of man who will be made like grass? And you forget the Lord your Maker, Who stretched out the heavens And laid the foundations of the earth.
You live in constant terror every day Because of the wrath of the oppressor, Who is bent on destruction. But where is the wrath of the oppressor?”
