Women Foundation Ministries and Noble Family Church Celebrate the 19th Edition of “Thanksgiving in Action”

Women Foundation Ministries in partnership with Noble Family Church has officially launched the 19th annual “Thanksgiving in Action” celebration, a long-standing initiative dedicated to expressing gratitude to God through acts of compassion toward the most vulnerable.

The event takes place this Friday morning, November 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Noble Family Church in Kagugu, where hundreds gathered for the Thanksgiving Outreach (Wirira Iwacu), a community-centered activity designed to support families in need.

Later in the day, from 4:00 PM, the celebration continued at Women Foundation Ministries/Noble Family Church Kimihurura with the Thanksgiving Service.

This year’s edition also coincides with the Glorious Family Convention, held under the theme “Save A Family, Save A Nation” (Jeremiah 31:1). The convention is presented by Noble Family Church in partnership with Women Foundation Ministries and is hosted by Apostle Mignonne Kabera.

Honored guests Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo and Pastor Mildred Kingsley Okonkwo from Nigeria are already in Kigali and took part in the afternoon session, delivering teachings focused on family restoration and spiritual growth.

Doors opened at 4:00 PM, with the main service starting at 5:30 PM at the Kimihurura campus. All sessions are being streamed live on the Women Foundation Ministries YouTube Channel, allowing a wider audience to participate.

A Tradition Rooted in Service Since 2006

“Thanksgiving in Action” was first introduced in 2006 with the goal of showing gratitude to God through tangible acts of love.

Over the years, the program has reached countless communities: In 2006, they shared a meal with 100 orphans and widows. In 2009, they supported 119 families of disabled liberation war veterans in Kanombe. In 2010, they reached 141 vulnerable families in Gasogi. In 2011, they extended support to families relocated from Kiyovu to Batsinda.

The tradition has continued annually, positioning the event as a nationally recognized moment of generosity and community upliftment.

What Has Been Planned for the 19th Edition

With the day now underway, the 19th edition is unfolding through three main activities: Thanksgiving Outreach (Wirira Iwacu) – Held this morning at NFC Kagugu. Thanksgiving Service – Taking place this evening at Kimihurura, featuring teachings from the Okonkwo pastoral couple. Couples Retreat – Scheduled for Saturday, November 29, 2025, a private retreat exclusively for invited married couples. This retreat will also be streamed on YouTube.

These activities form part of WFM’s broader 2025 campaign, “A Year of Divine Craving for Christ”, and the annual emphasis: “THANKSGIVING 2025 – In Action, Make It a Culture.”
