Top 10 Most watched Rwandan Gospel songs in 2023

Often when someone is going to see if a song is popular he looks at the number of views on the YouTube.

The goal of all artists who upload their music on YouTube is to get views. His happiness is often when he reaches a million viewers and more. This is a dream come true for up-and-comers, filling millions of viewers with their song feels like a miracle.

In this list, Paradise returned to the ten songs of Rwandan artists who sing worship and praise that were viewed more than others. Almost all of them were sung in Swahili because these artists realized that even abroad they deserve to hear the good news from Rwandan artists.

Some of these songs on the list are also the first hits for the artists. What’s even more surprising is that only three artists own these songs on this list. They are Israel Mbonyi, the team of PaPi Clever and Dorcas and the team of Vestine and Dorcas.

9. Nk’umusirikare Israel Mbonyi

This song caused a stir because of the military uniform Israel Mbonyi was wearing. It was released on the 5th of June. By the end of 2023 it had over 2.2 million views on YouTube.

8. Nilikwenda Mbali by PaPi Clever and Dorcas Ft Merci Pianist

This song is sung in Giswaile, by the end of 2023 it has been watched by more than 2.3 million people. It was released on March 23.

7. Amenisamehe by Israel Mbonyi

This song has a good momentum considering that it was released in the month of November, and it comes in the list as the seventh. Sung in Swahili, the year 2023 ends with over 2.3 million viewers.

6. Roho Yangu Inaimba by PaPi Clever and Dorcas Ft Merci Pianist

This song is also sung in Swahili and was released on March 5. By the end of 2023 it had over 3. 1 million viewers.

5. Umutaka by Vestine and Dorcas

The song has been highly praised by all kinds of music lovers since its release. Devotees and non-devotees alike loved it and it had a million views less than two weeks after its release. By the end of the year it had over 3.9 million viewers.

It was released on April 14th. None can be afraid to say that it leads this list in Kinyarwanda, which is the first of the worship and praise songs released this past year in pure Kinyarwanda.

4. Mwokozi Wetu by PaPi Clever and Dorcas Ft Merci Pianist

This song is sung in Swahili and was released on the 10th of February. It has been viewed over 4.8 million times on YouTube.

3. Nita Amini by Israel Mboyi

This song continues to be viewed day by day, which shows that it will go far. Published on June 26, 2023 in Swahili. By the end of 2023 it had over 7.6 million viewers.

2. Ameniweka Huru by PaPi Clever and Dorcas Ft Merci Pianist

This song is one of the most popular songs in East Africa in Swahili speaking countries and beyond. It was the artist’s first most viewed video on their YouTube channel. It has been viewed by more than 21.5 million people since it was released on May 25, 2023.

1. Nina Siri by Israel Mbonyi

As soon as you see the name Nina Siri, you immediately think of the history this song has had in countries outside of Rwanda, especially in Kenya. Paradise talked to Israel Mbonyi’s fan from Kenya named Mercy Adhiambo and said that they first danced Nina Siri thinking that Israel Mbonyi is Kenyan.

Israel Mbonyi has become famous in Africa because of the Swahili songs he sang this year. In other years he was popular but not like now because he was often heard by people who know Kinyarwanda. He also released other songs that would be added to this list if we continue.

The characteristic words of Israel Mbonyi are: "I hear the voice of the Lord God saying, "Who shall I send, And who will go for us?" And I said, “Here I am. Send me.” They are found in the book of Isaiah 6:8.

The artist has more than 835 thousand followers on his Israel Mbonyi YouTube channel.
It’s been a blessed year for him, performing concerts including his Christmas performance at the BK Arena and filling it up. He was also blessed to shake hands for the first with His Excellency President Paul Kagame on December 30, the meeting of the end of the year 2023.

PaPi Clever and Dorcas

PaPi Clever and Dorcas work as a team but they are husband and wife. They got married on December 7, 2019 and have been together for over 4 years. They are writers, singers and producers of worship and praise songs. PaPi Clever considers Ingabire Dorcas as piece of his body, which is why he took her into the profession of singing songs of worship and praise to God.

Their songs are produced by a man who knows how to play the piano named Merci Pianist, and they have sang many songs together including the ones on this list.

This year their name has gone far because since they started singing, for the first time their songs have been viewed more than ever, making them known on a continental level.
They finally have over 511 thousand YouTube followers on their PaPi Clever & Dorcas Official channel.

Vestine and Dorcas

Vestine and Dorcas are also a group of young women who are managed by journalist Murindahabi Irene. Their music is available on his MIE Music channel which already has 217 thousand subscribers. The ones they made this year are all here.

This year was special because they performed their first concert outside of Rwanda in the country of Burundi, on December 23, 2023. They are diligent in this music because they associate it with learning. In a few days they are going to release a new song called Iriba, which is highly anticipated.
