In a sermon delivered on June 13, 2026, Pastor Christian Gisanura spoke on a message titled “The Mystery of the Night and Midnight,” emphasizing that the night and midnight hours are special moments during which God often works and visits His people.
Pastor Gisanura explained that many people overlook the spiritual significance of the night, yet it can be a time of divine encounters, renewed promises, and guidance from God.
He based his teaching on Genesis 26:24, where God appeared to Isaac during the night and reminded him of the covenant He had made with his father, Abraham.
According to Pastor Gisanura, Isaac did not receive blessings solely because of his own actions, but also because of the relationship that existed between God and his father. He stressed that a person’s actions can have lasting consequences—both positive and negative—on future generations.
“What you do today may not be harvested by you alone; your children may one day reap the results of your actions,” he said. “That is why we must be careful about the lives we live and the relationship we maintain with God.”
He noted that many people have enjoyed blessings because of the faithfulness and righteousness of those who came before them, while others have suffered the consequences of the mistakes and sins of previous generations. He therefore encouraged believers to live upright lives and leave a godly legacy for those who will come after them.
Focusing on the spiritual importance of the night, Pastor Gisanura taught that God often speaks to people during moments of quietness and stillness, particularly at night when distractions have faded away.
He urged Christians not to waste those hours on activities that do not build their spiritual lives. “If you find yourself unable to sleep at night, do not immediately turn to alcohol, your phone, or social media,” he said. “First ask yourself whether God may be seeking to speak to you or visit you.”
He encouraged believers to use such moments for prayer, reading Scripture, and meditating on God’s Word rather than spending the time on activities that could distract them from receiving spiritual blessings.
Pastor Gisanura also referred to Exodus 12, where God delivered the Israelites at midnight as He passed through Egypt. He explained that midnight can symbolize a moment when God changes people’s circumstances and brings deliverance from long-standing struggles.
He emphasized that while many people are asleep and physically weak during those hours, God is still at work. Although some individuals use the midnight hours for harmful or ungodly purposes, Christians should use that time to draw closer to God and seek His direction.
As he concluded his message, Pastor Gisanura encouraged believers to develop a habit of fellowship with God during the night, opening their hearts to hear His voice and follow His guidance.
He ended with a simple but powerful piece of advice: “Never go to bed without praying.”
