In his sermon delivered on February 26, 2026, Pastor Christian Gianura reflected on the central message of Jesus Christ in this world, emphasizing that it was rooted in revealing the true nature of God and explaining the reality of His Kingdom.
Jesus Christ came into the world to bring light to the relationship between humanity and God. A major problem at the time was that many people knew God only in theory or by name, but did not truly understand who He is.
When a person does not clearly know who God is, it becomes difficult to draw near to Him or honor Him as He deserves. That is why Jesus’ message focused on revealing God’s true character.
First, Jesus showed that God is not merely a distant Creator, but a loving Father who desires a close relationship with humanity. This was clearly expressed in His words to Mary Magdalene.
As recorded in John 20:17, Jesus said: “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” In this statement, Jesus revealed a profound relationship between God and believers—calling Him His Father and also their Father.
Throughout His teachings, Jesus demonstrated that human beings are meant to relate to God as children relate to their father. In the prayer He taught His disciples, He said: “This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.’” (Matthew 6:9). Addressing God as “Father” removed the excessive fear people had and revealed that God desires a loving, familial relationship with them.
When someone truly understands that God is a good Father, their behavior changes. Faith is not merely expressed in words but is demonstrated through actions. As Scripture teaches, faith without works is dead. A person who believes that God is their Father is called to reflect His character—showing love, mercy, humility, and goodness.
Although human experiences with earthly parents may sometimes be flawed, they should not define how we view God. Instead, we are invited to picture a loving and caring parent—one who corrects in order to build up, forgives, and seeks the good of their child. This is how God reveals Himself: He corrects in love, forgives generously, and works for humanity’s ultimate good.
The second key message Jesus taught was about the Kingdom of God. He instructed people to pray: “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10). The Kingdom of God refers to God’s rule and authority in the hearts and daily lives of people. When someone accepts God’s authority, His will begins to operate within them.
On earth, believers are called to live as representatives of that Kingdom. Their words, thoughts, and actions should reflect their divine origin. Life on earth is a time for receiving forgiveness and transformation. However, beyond this life, there will be reward or judgment according to how one has lived.
Therefore, the message of Jesus Christ was to restore humanity to a true relationship with God as His children and to call them to live under the authority of His Kingdom while still on earth. Whoever embraces this message and transforms their life accordingly prepares for an eternal future.
Pastor Christian Gianura emphasized these truths in depth, highlighting the importance of knowing God as a loving Father and submitting to His Kingdom in everyday life.
