In Dallas, Texas, where he not only celebrated Rwanda’s Liberation Day, The Ben speaks of God once more in emotional Dallas performance honoring his Grandmother
Rwandan music sensation Benjamin Mugisha, popularly known as The Ben, created a touching and faith-filled atmosphere during a powerful performance in Dallas, Texas, on July 5, 2025. The concert was part of Rwanda Convention USA 2025, held in celebration of Rwanda’s Liberation Day.
For over 30 minutes, he delivered an engaging set blending playback and live vocals, performing a mix of his most loved hits. But beyond the music, it was the emotional and spiritual moments that truly defined the night.
As he wrapped up his heartfelt song “Naremeye”, a fan approached the stage and handed him a framed photo of himself with his late grandmother, Yunia Mukangarambe, who passed away on March 28, 2024. The Ben received the gift with visible emotion, placing it close to his heart before sharing it with his team on stage. The gesture added a deeply personal layer to the performance, reminding fans of the human stories behind the artist’s success.
In what has become his signature message during live shows, The Ben also spoke openly about his Christian faith.
“I hope all of you love God,” he told the crowd. “People who know me know this, I’ll never leave the stage without saying that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Jesus is our life, and I know it for sure.”
This powerful declaration preceded his performance of “Ndaje”, a song known for its spiritual tone and reverence. He also performed “Thank You”, his collaboration with Tom Close that blends gospel themes with a contemporary sound.
Closing the night, The Ben told the audience, “Dallas, this is history in the making. Thank you so much.” His mix of music, gratitude, and faith left a lasting impact, reflecting his evolution from hitmaker to an artist unafraid to share his soul on stage.
Now a leading figure in the Rwandan diaspora music scene, The Ben continues to connect with fans not only through his voice, but through moments that touch the heart, and the spirit.
