Salvation is Not Changing Religions—It's a Gift from God, Full of Many Other Gifts - Pastor Christian Gisanura

Salvation is not about switching religions. It is a divine gift from God—a gift that comes like a bag filled with many other gifts.

The Bible says: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. As Scripture says: ‘Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.’” (Romans 10:9,11).

Salvation is the result of what you believe and what you confess. It’s not about carrying a big Bible, memorizing lots of verses, speaking gently, wearing long dresses, or changing how you talk. These are outward signs that may appear in someone who claims to be saved—but they are not the fruit of salvation.

The true fruit of salvation is described in Galatians 5:22–23: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

Salvation is the gift you receive when you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins so that you wouldn’t perish, and you begin to live carefully, confessing what you believe without shame—openly identifying with Him and honoring His words.

This gift from God comes like a bag full of blessings:

Victory over sin, divine protection, rescue from the enemy’s plans, discernment of God’s will for your life, the power to fulfill it, living in His promises, growing in the knowledge of God day by day, becoming a child of God, gaining heavenly citizenship, being clothed in His honor and glory, blessings in what you do, reaping a harvest from your good works, being led by the Holy Spirit, having authority over demons, receiving eternal life—and more.

However, the enemy often tests us to see whether we know who we are, whether we can stand firm in what we believe, or whether we will fall when answers delay or when we face hardships. Salvation is about what you do with the information you’ve received about Jesus Christ—He is your Savior.

So I encourage you to reflect on how you are using what you’ve heard. If this message did not come from God, it would have faded long ago. But for over 2,000 years, the name of Jesus—who died and rose again—is still being preached, sung, honored, and loved even by people with no earthly connection to Him.

He was not the only good person to ever live—but He is the one spoken of by the whole world. He ministered for only three and a half years. He was young, poor, from an obscure place, and lived in a time before social media. And yet, His name continues to be spoken more than any other person in history—past, present, or future. Why, if He were not from God, is He still being talked about this much, after all these years?

From young children to the elderly, people speak of Him.n Think again about how you see Him. Choose whether to accept or reject this gift. But remember, He warned that the day will come when He will also turn away from those who rejected Him. May Jesus enable you to walk with Him in the time you have left on this earth.

Shalom, Pastor Christian Gisanura
