On Thursday, August 15, 2024, a two-year-old child fell in the Jordan (baptism water) of the ADEPR Rukomo Church in Nyagatare District, in Eastern Province of Rwanda, after leaving his mother who had come to pray, and was taken out dead.
This information was confirmed by the Executive Secretary of Rukomo Sector, Marie Claire Ingabire. She said that the deceased died after leaving his mother they had come to pray. She said, “He collapsed around 12:00 in the midday.
At that church there was a baptism and they put water in Jordan, but usually they don’t put it in when they don’t have baptism. The child left his mother who had brought him to pray, left him in the temple, and fell down there, and they took him out dead.
Marie Claire Ingabire asked the bereaved family to be patient. She asks parents to take care of their children’s activities at the church and wherever, and monitor everything they do in order to prevent any harm from happening to them.
