As part of its mission to spread the Good News and reach more people with a message of hope, Power of the Cross Ministries has organized a major gospel gathering set to take place in Kimironko on July 20th, 2025. The concert is titled “Haracyari Ibyiringiro”, which translates to “There is still hope.”
This gospel event aims to show that even in the face of life’s toughest challenges, God remains present and is the ultimate source of healing and salvation. Ndabaramiye Bienfait, the coordinator of operations at Power of the Cross Ministries, shared with Paradise:
“This concert is about showing people that life still has meaning—especially those who are discouraged, including survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. We want to tell them that God is the One who restores lives.”
The concert will take place at KG 11 Ave 113, Kimironko, starting from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Admission is free, and the main preacher will be Bishop Prof. Fidele Masengo. Joining in worship will be prominent gospel groups including Joyous Melody, Rehoboth Ministries, and Fishers of Men Ministries.
Organized in partnership with The Citylight A Foursquare Church, the concert’s theme draws from the verse in Job 14:7 which says: “There is hope for a tree: if it is cut down, it will sprout again.”
Power of the Cross believes this concert will have a powerful impact on the lives of people who feel hopeless or burdened. They are inviting everyone seeking healing from emotional wounds and a renewed sense of purpose to attend. Participants will enjoy a moment of heartfelt worship and deep spiritual teaching.
Power of the Cross Ministries was founded in 2007 by a group of people with a passion for preaching the Gospel through music. It has now grown to become one of Rwanda’s most dynamic ministries, known for both its powerful worship and its compassionate outreach. For over 18 years, the ministry has remained committed to glorifying God through music while also supporting the vulnerable, especially children in need.
According to Ndabaramiye Bienfait, who oversees activities at the ministry, it started as a gathering of worshippers but with a clear and lasting vision — to take the Good News of Jesus Christ to all people and to show them love through practical acts of compassion.
“Power of the Cross began with a group of people singing worship songs, but the vision was always to spread the Gospel everywhere,” he said. “Beyond the message, we engage in tangible acts of charity to support those in need.”
That vision also includes concerts, gospel music production (the group has released 15 songs), and the launch of their first album titled Super Power. The music mission continues to grow. As Bienfait says, “Our goal is to keep working hard so that the message can reach even farther.”
That mission was demonstrated recently on July 6th, 2025, when members of Power of the Cross Ministries visited Ecole Primaire Cyeru, a primary school located in Masaka Sector, Kicukiro District. During this visit, 100 children received school supplies: each child got 12 notebooks, 3 pens, a ruler, and money to cover their lunch fees for the 2025–2026 academic year.
The outreach was attended by Maurice Ndatabaye, the Executive Director of Power of the Cross Ministries, who had recently returned from the United States after living there for two and a half years. He arrived in Rwanda on July 4th, 2025, accompanied by their American partner named Joe. Together, they rejoined the team in their mission of evangelism and compassion.
Power of the Cross Ministries continues to demonstrate that the work of God involves both spiritual transformation and social impact, reviving hope in people’s hearts and helping restore dignity — both spiritually and in everyday life.
