Overcoming Life's Trials – Pastor Christian Gisanura

Pastor Christian Gisanura continued his daily teachings on May 23, 2026, focusing on the theme of overcoming life’s trials.

In everyday life, many people wonder why they go through hardships, difficult moments, or unexpected changes.

Some believe that being a Christian or a child of God means living a life without problems. However, the Bible shows that even in the journey of faith, there are seasons of testing and trials.

Pastor Christian Gisanura explained that trials are part of human life and that they come with a purpose — to teach and build a person.

He based his teaching on the words of Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:12-13, where Paul says: “I know how to be brought low… I have learned to endure all things… I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

The full passage says: “I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Pastor Christian said that Paul had understood that life does not remain the same forever. Sometimes people experience good seasons, while at other times they go through painful situations. But a person who walks with God learns to accept every season as a lesson in life.

He explained that many people struggle to accept change, especially when they move from a comfortable life into difficult circumstances they are not used to. Paul said he knew how to be humbled, something many people naturally dislike. Yet refusing to learn life’s lessons is like a student failing and repeating the same class.

Pastor Christian described life as a school where every person is at a certain stage of learning. There are times when someone enjoys success, wealth, a good job, or honor, but suddenly everything changes.

Likewise, there are times when someone faces poverty or suffering, only for life to later improve again. That is why people should understand that no season lasts forever and that God always has something He wants to teach through every situation.

He gave examples of highly educated people who fail to find jobs, or experienced individuals who pass exams but still do not get employment. According to him, such situations can become lessons that God allows in order to transform a person’s mindset or character.

Pastor Christian continued by saying that trials carry two important messages. First, they remove negative things within a person, such as pride, laziness, disrespect, or other unhealthy attitudes. Second, they bring new qualities meant to build a person, such as patience, love, humility, and wisdom in life.

He encouraged people to ask themselves what lesson is hidden within their trials instead of constantly complaining or losing hope. When someone refuses to learn from a trial, it may continue longer because it has not yet fulfilled its purpose.

He also warned people not to put too much trust in human beings, money, or positions of power, because all those things can change. Instead, it is God who sustains people and gives them strength to overcome every season of life.

He emphasized that people, education, friends, or jobs cannot provide lasting strength. Only God can truly strengthen a person, while using those things as tools to help them along the journey.

In closing, Pastor Christian Gisanura encouraged people to accept the season of life they are in and continue walking with God through everything.

He urged believers to pray for discernment so they may understand whether a trial is allowed by God or is a spiritual battle from Satan, and to know what God expects them to do in order to overcome it.

He concluded by emphasizing that Christ is the one who gives strength to overcome every trial in life.
