On May 16, 2026, Pastor Christian Gisanura continued his teachings with a message centered on guarding the heart and controlling one’s thoughts, emphasizing that a person’s thoughts ultimately reveal their true identity.
In his sermon, Pastor Gisanura reflected on the inner life of a person and how thoughts shape character, actions, and spiritual direction. His teaching was based mainly on Biblical passages from Philippians 4:8 and Proverbs 23:7.
In Philippians 4:8, the Bible says: “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
He also referenced Proverbs 23:7, which states: “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”
According to Pastor Gisanura, a person is not truly defined by outward appearance, good speech, or external image, but by what exists inside their heart and mind.
He explained that many people may appear good outwardly while secretly carrying negative thoughts and hidden intentions.
“A person is not someone who dresses well, looks good, or speaks well. A person is the hidden inner being,” he said.
Pastor Gisanura added that although people may pretend for a certain period of time, their true nature eventually becomes visible.
“Time eventually reveals who a person really is. One day God will expose what is inside you, whether good or bad,” he said.
The preacher emphasized that when Christ lives within a person, their thoughts begin to change because Christ starts guiding both the mind and the heart.
“Our thoughts are the pages on which God writes what He desires,” he explained.
He warned believers against allowing negative influences to enter their minds through people, social media platforms, or deceptive environments that corrupt thoughts and values.
Pastor Gisanura stressed that even someone raised in a difficult or harmful environment still has the power to decide what they allow into their heart and mind.
“Thoughts are what lead people to do either good or evil. People kill, rescue, steal from others, or help them because of what exists in their minds,” he said.
He also spoke about the importance of building positive habits, explaining that consistency is necessary for good habits to become part of one’s daily life.
“Practice a good habit for at least two months. If you do it for only one week and stop, it becomes difficult to maintain,” he noted.
Throughout the sermon, Pastor Gisanura repeatedly described the heart as the dwelling place of God, urging Christians to protect it carefully and avoid contaminating it with destructive thoughts.
“God lives in your heart. There is nowhere else on earth where He dwells except in your heart,” he said.
He further warned against allowing confusion and contradiction to dominate one’s heart, saying such situations often create endless inner battles.
Using a practical example, he said: “If you are a young woman dating five different men at the same time, you are lost. Do not create war within your heart.”
As he concluded the message, Pastor Gisanura encouraged people to guard their hearts carefully and be mindful of the people they allow to influence their lives, emphasizing that every person leaves something behind in another person’s heart.
“Guard your heart and protect yourself from people who plant bad seeds in your life,” he concluded.
