Israel Mbonyi, Bet Ammi and Himbaza Club to headline major Youth Convention in Kigali
Renowned gospel artist Israel Mbonyi, alongside Himbaza Club and Bet Ammi, are set to minister at the highly anticipated “Youth Convention 2026,” a large Christian youth gathering scheduled to take place in Kigali.
The convention, organized by TFC Rwanda, will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village. The event will also feature international preacher Dr. Chad Grayson.
This year marks the ninth edition of the annual youth convention, which is expected to bring together thousands of young people from across Rwanda for worship, biblical teaching, prayer, and fellowship.
According to Mbanzabugabo Muteteri Aminadab, the gathering was organized with the aim of helping young people “know Christ more deeply, discover purpose in life, grow spiritually, and become youth with strong values who love their country and contribute to its development beginning with their families.”
The 2026 edition is themed “The Power of Redemption,” inspired by Epistle to the Ephesians 1:7, a scripture centered on redemption through Jesus Christ.
Organizers say the convention comes at a time when many young people are struggling with challenges such as drug abuse, depression, sexual immorality, and a lack of direction in life. They believe the event will provide spiritual encouragement and renewed hope through the Gospel.
The convention will also focus on preparing future leaders with strong moral and spiritual foundations. TFC Rwanda emphasized that it views the youth as the future leadership of the nation and seeks to equip them with values that can positively transform society.
Iradukunda Elyse, a member of TFC Rwanda, explained why Israel Mbonyi was once again invited to the event.
“He is a worship minister we have worked with on different occasions, and he has consistently shown willingness to continue partnering with us,” she said.
Participants are expected to benefit from Bible teachings, worship sessions, testimonies of transformed lives, salvation prayers, youth empowerment discussions, and opportunities to connect and exchange ideas with fellow young believers.
In addition to musical performances by Israel Mbonyi, Himbaza Club, and Bet Ammi, the convention will host pastors, youth leaders, and guest speakers from both Rwanda and abroad.
