Ignoring God Is an Insult — Pastor Christian Gisanura

Pastor Christian Gisanura has reminded Christians that ignoring God is a form of insult, emphasizing that God walks with His people in every season of life.

In a deep and timely sermon delivered in January on the importance of gratitude, Pastor Gisanura taught that neglecting God is not a minor sin, but a serious offense—especially when one forgets that God has been present through both good and difficult times.

Drawing from Jeremiah 29:11–13, Pastor Gisanura stressed that God is trustworthy, quoting the Scripture: “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” He explained that this is not merely a comforting promise, but a life principle that Christians should live by.

“Our God has been with us throughout the past year, and He will be with us this year as well. He has never left. He is faithful and cares for us even when we do not ask,” said Pastor Gisanura.

He spoke about the importance of trusting God, saying that faith is proof that a person recognizes they did not walk alone through all they have faced. He emphasized that although people go through both good and bad seasons, God remains present in both.

To illustrate his message, Pastor Gisanura shared a personal experience from his own life to warn people against taking dangerous shortcuts.

He explained how, during a rainy journey, his road became slippery and he was advised to take a shorter route that appeared easier and faster. However, that shortcut turned out to be risky.

Along the way, he faced several problems, including his car skidding and a tire bursting, which caused delays and put him at risk of returning home very late.

Through this experience, he stressed that a shorter path is not always the best one, as it can lead to more trouble than a longer road that leads to peace.

He reminded believers that in life, many people rush to choose what seems easy, but such choices often bring difficulties, instead of listening to God’s voice that leads them on the path of peace.

He also recalled that Jesus calls people to choose the path of peace rather than running after quick and easy options that may lead to problems.

In closing, Pastor Gisanura explained the meaning of obedience by breaking it into two parts: hearing and doing. He emphasized that God asks us to seek Him with all our hearts, because He has already sought us and given us Jesus Christ.

“When we seek God with all our hearts, we will find Him. Wherever you are—at school, at work, on a journey—God is there.”
