How to Discover Your Calling – Pastor Christian Gisanura

On Wednesday, March 11, 2026, Pastor Christian Gisanura launched a new sermon series focused on discovering one’s calling.

In the life of a Christian, one of the greatest challenges many face is understanding their true calling. Many people have hearts willing to serve God, yet they do not know exactly what to do to please Him or fulfill His plan in their lives.

This often leads to confusion, with some living aimlessly and others working hard but outside the purpose God intended for them.

To address this, Pastor Christian Gisanura began this new series to clearly explain what the Bible teaches about calling, so that each person can understand why they exist and what they are meant to do in life.

The teaching is based on Ezekiel 37, where God revealed profound truths to the prophet about human life, hope, and His plan for His people:

“So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. And I looked, and there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them; but there was no breath in them.

Then He said to me, ‘Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.’ So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.” – Ezekiel 37:7–10

This passage carries profound insights and hidden truths about life and calling. The dry bones represent people who are spiritually dead or have lost hope. Yet, God can breathe life into what seems dead and transform it into a powerful force for His work.

The newly revived army symbolizes those called to fulfill God’s purpose on Earth. Just as these bones were scattered, hopeless, and lifeless, many today live without direction, hope, or understanding of their calling. But God promises restoration—He will bring His people out of places of despair and into their place of purpose.

Ezekiel 37 teaches that before experiencing God’s answers, one must first recognize their current position. Spiritual growth and the fulfillment of calling start with awareness and alignment with God’s plan. Just as one cannot fully experience a country they have never visited, one cannot fully engage in God’s work without being in His presence.

God’s promise to restore His people into the promised land demonstrates that He has a prepared place and purpose for everyone. In Titus 1:5, God reminds us to complete the work left unfinished in our lives—what He preserves in each person is for His plan and glory.

This message emphasizes the importance of knowing your calling. Life on Earth is finite, and everyone has a unique role to fulfill. Understanding your reason for being and what God asks of you ensures that your life will achieve the purpose for which you were created, before your journey on Earth ends.
