This sermon was delivered by Christian Gisanura on February 19, 2026, under the theme: “Our Father in Heaven Is the Source of Security and Honor.”
Pastor Christian Gisanura explained that just as a biological father is a source of security and honor for his child, God the Father is the true source of security for everyone who remains in Him.
A person is born powerless, without the ability to protect or sustain themselves. Parents provide protection, food, clothing, medical care, and shelter from danger and hardship. A child carries value because of their origin; a parent’s name can open doors.
When a parent lives honorably, their good deeds become a legacy for their children. When a parent behaves poorly, their wrongdoing can also leave a negative mark on future generations. This teaches us that our actions today are seeds whose harvest will be reaped by those who come after us.
In everyday life, those with wealth and power sometimes oppress those who are weaker. However, in time, truth prevails. Pastor Christian Gisanura shared a testimony about a man who had been well raised by his father. Because of the father’s integrity and reputation, someone paid for his son’s university education for two years.
That upright teacher’s integrity bore fruit for his son, Pastor Christian, and his children benefited from the good name he left behind. This shows that a parent’s honor can become a catalyst for opportunities for their children. Therefore, each of us should ask: “What am I leaving behind for those who will come after me? Am I opening doors for them or closing them?”
God as a Father Who Protects and Calls
The teaching emphasized that God acts like a Father who protects His children while also calling them to purpose. It was based on Epistle to the Romans 8:28–37, which declares that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.
This does not mean that challenges do not exist. Rather, it means that even difficulties are transformed by God into blessings for those who trust Him. A person may face hardship unexpectedly, but if they remain in God’s will, painful experiences can become pathways to salvation and growth.
There is a calling upon every individual. God foreknows, predestines, calls, justifies, and glorifies those who believe in Him. The issue is not whether God calls; the issue is that some people hear the call and ignore it, or respond too late.
True honor and security are found in responding to that call and remaining in God’s will. Just as a nation protects those within its borders, God protects those who remain within His kingdom. When a person steps outside God’s will, they expose their spiritual life to danger.
Do Not Forget the Source
Another serious concern addressed in the teaching is that some people forget the Source after receiving blessings. They may pray for a job, marriage, or promotion—but once they receive it, they drift away from serving God.
This is like abandoning the source while the water has not yet run dry. Forgetting God after being blessed is denying oneself future security and further blessings. What we currently have is never enough on its own.
In reality, the main difference between the living and the dead is that the living still have a purpose to fulfill. If we are still breathing, it means we still have an assignment. The apostle Paul declared that to live is Christ and to die is gain, showing that the value of life lies in living according to God’s will.
If God is on our side, no force can ultimately defeat us. No accusation can prevail, because Christ intercedes for us. Neither trouble, hardship, persecution, hunger, danger, nor sword can separate us from His love. Security is found in God’s presence when we choose to remain in His will.
Just as a father is a source of security and honor for his child, God the Father is the source of true security and lasting honor for every person. Remain connected to the Source. Honor your calling. Leave behind a good legacy. In doing so, you will experience enduring honor and genuine security.
