The Easter concert, called Ewangelia Easter Celebration Concert, is one of the concerts that have left an unforgettable history in Rwanda to bring together Christians from the major and minor sectors, and from different religions and churches.
This concert took place on Easter, March 31, 2024, and takes place in a building designed for entertainment in Rwanda known as Kigali BK Arena.
It is the concert organized by the Bible Society in Rwanda, BSR, which is not biased towards any particular religion or church, which is why those from ADEPR, Catholics, those from the Restoration Church and others participated in extraordinary joy, especially because they all believe in Jesus Christ and believe that his death and resurrection are what led them to be redeemed and freed from the slavery of sin and death they inherited from Adam.
Alarm Ministries, one of the best choirs in the Country, was the first to sing, getting people into the mood of the concert, while the Shalom Choir was also preparing to support them, and continued to entertain the audience. One of the songs that Shalom Choir sang was ’Yaranguraniye’, the Christians and others present got into the spirit of the Easter celebration. These choirs belong to Pentecostal churches, like Shalom which serves God in ADEPR Nyarugenge.
After that, the Christus Regnat Choir, which is one of the most powerful in the Catholic Church in Rwanda, entertained its fans and all Christians in general. They sang many songs including ’Mana Idukunda’ and others. Later, the Jehovah Jireh Choir was featured in several songs including ’Gumamo’, but not Catholics.
After this choir, there was a group of singers in songs of worship and praise to God known as James and Daniella. Zoravo from Tanzania was also preparing to go in front of thousands of Christians, so that they could better remember the resurrection of Jesus. The artist asked people to turn on the telephone torches as a light for rebirth after being redeemed by Jesus Christ.
Israel Mbonyi was the one who put an end to the singers and choirs who attended the Christians who were in the BK Arena. Of all the songs he sang in 40 minutes, that is from 11:19-11:58 at night, Nina Siri was the last.
Among those who sang, we cannot ignore the artist who is one of the most uprising in worship and praise songs, Ellie Bahati who sang songs including Niseme Nini Baba, Uko Ngusabira and Ushimwe.
Apart from those who had to go and sing at the stage, there were other singers who were sitting with others. They are the group of Vestine and Dorcas with Murindahabi Irene their manager, artist Christoph Ndayishimiye, artist Jean Christian Irimbere, Bishop Gafaranga and his wife Murava Annet, and artist Bosco Nshuti.
Not only them, because the Archbishop of the Catholic Church in the City of Kigali, Antoine Cardinal Kambanda, and the Chief Pastor of the ADEPR Church in Rwanda, Pastor Ndayizeye Isaie and his wife are among those who arrived to the start of Alarm Ministries, other choirs and artists.
At the end of the concert, Archbishop Antoine Cardinal Kambanda, who is the Spokesman of the Bible Society in Rwanda which organized the concert, prayed at around 00:5, and the concert ended.
After that, he gave Israel Mbonyi a gift of a Bible as one of the weapons to reach everyone as far as possible, especially since this concert was aimed at helping people celebrate Easter and supporting Bible printing activities.
