Rwandan gospel artist Eric Niyonkuru is gearing up for a major milestone in his music career as he prepares to officially release his debut album titled “Biva ku Gicaniro.”
Known for his deep spiritual conviction and consistent message of faith, the Europe-based worship leader is steadily building anticipation for what many expect to be a defining project in contemporary gospel music.
Currently residing in Finland, Eric has already begun unveiling songs from the upcoming album. Among the latest releases is “Urutare,” a worship song that emphasizes Jesus Christ as the firm foundation and unshakable rock in the life of every believer. The track reflects Eric’s signature style, spiritually grounded lyrics blended with refined production.
The inspiration behind “Urutare” draws from First Epistle of Peter 2:3–4, highlighting Christ as the living Stone, rejected by men but chosen and precious before God. Through this message, Eric calls listeners to draw closer to Christ and build their lives on Him.
Production for the album has brought together some of the most promising names in gospel music. Audio work on several tracks, including “Urutare,” was handled by Rano Beat, who also leads Korari Sayuni.
Other producers contributing to the project include Fiacle and Clement Level, both recognized for their creativity and growing influence in East African gospel production. Video production has also been carefully executed to match the spiritual depth of the songs.
“Biva ku Gicaniro” will feature 10 main tracks along with one bonus song, bringing the total to 11. According to Eric, each song carries a unique message but collectively centers on faith, worship, gratitude, and complete dependence on God.
He has hinted that one particular track received special attention during mixing and mastering, describing it as one that could deeply resonate with audiences.
Over the years, Eric Niyonkuru has released songs such as Nahimbazwe, Wahozeho, Yakoze Imirimo, Atatenda, Yaje Aje, and Ndi Umunyamahirwe, earning him a growing following among gospel music lovers both in Rwanda and in the diaspora.
His ministry is marked not only by musical excellence but also by humility and a strong emphasis on personal fellowship with God.
