The candidate of the RPF Inkotanyi for the position of President, Paul Kagame, expressed that foreigners who think that voting for him 100% is wrong that there is no Democracy in Rwanda have an attitude that includes ignorance.
This is the speech he gave in Ngororero District in Western Province, where he continued his campaign activities on June 24, 2024.
Paul Kagame, who has been leading Rwanda since April 2000, told the people gathered in Ngororero District that if they vote for him, they will have decided to continue the process of development where everyone is involved.
He said, “Today and the 15th of next month is the decision to continue that way with the leaders who join that way. We have to choose two things, MPs and then who will lead the Republic of Rwanda."
In the 2017 presidential election, Paul Kagame won 98.79% of the vote. The members of the RPF Inkotanyi and those of the eight parties that are supporting him in this campaign express that they want to have 100% votes in the 2024 elections. This is reinforced by the billboards that appear in the advertising campaign.
The candidate of the RPF Inkotanyi expressed that there are those who do not understand that a Rwandan candidate would have 100% votes, because it would not be democracy. He explained that this is due to the fact that in their countries there are also those who win the elections by 15%.
He said, "There are those who don’t understand us, they don’t understand Rwanda, but little by little the actions will explain it to them. What we said was 100%, there are people who feel that 100% is not democratic and they will understand because democracy, the process we are in, what we will do on the 15th is about Rwanda,
It is not about them, it is about us, we are doing what is about us. He said, ’100%, but how is it possible?’, he said, ’There is no democracy.’ I asked someone the other day, ’but those who are ruled by 15%, how is that a democracy’?"
Kagame continued to testify that there is ignorance in the minds of those who do not believe that there is democracy in Rwanda. He said, “There are many who are elected, and they get 15% and those who voted are about 30% or 40% of those who were supposed to vote. Is that democracy? How? Don’t be afraid of many things, some of them are wrong but also of ignorance.
The people gathered in Ngororero told Kagame that the critics of Rwanda’s democracy should come and learn from it. So we continue on our way. We know where we come from, we know where the country was 30 years ago. That is why the last 30 years have happened. I’m not repeating that, we’re looking forward."
The candidate of the RPF Inkotanyi emphasized that what Rwandans have achieved in the past 30 years speaks for itself, and that they should continue the journey leading to a better Rwanda.
“It speaks for itself. We continue that way, build ourselves up. Rwandans are similar to other African countries, there was a time when we got used to poverty, that we have to be poor, that we have to live in poverty, that we are supported by others and only God.
But yes, those othersn help you, God who created you owns you, but I’m there searching in the middle, why should they be others, only God, where are we? But we also have to support ourselves.”
Paul Kagame said that although Rwandans are helped by others, and pray to God to help them, they should also contribute to their development. He said "But let’s help God too, remember to try because he gave us everything."
Voting for Paul Kagame 100 percent is democracy 100 percent
