At just 22 years old, Divine Muntu has captured the hearts of many with her soulful voice and inspiring music. However, her journey has not been without scrutiny.

The revelation of her engagement and upcoming wedding to Benjamin Uwizera sparked heated discussions across social media platforms, with some questioning whether such a young artist should be entering marriage at this stage in her life.

When asked how she felt about being publicly presented as a bride in a church ceremony at such a young age, Divine responded with confidence and faith.

“There is no age limit set for marriage except what the law says, which is 21. I have passed that age, and I believe that making such decisions is part of maturity. I was not the first nor will I be the last to get married at this age. People should respect my choice and give me peace,” she said during an interview with Paradise.

Divine was also asked how it feels to give her heart to someone else, especially under public scrutiny.

“Love is sacred, and when you trust someone enough to commit, it’s a blessing. I am grateful to have found someone who shares my faith and vision. The support from my fans and family keeps me strong,” she shared.

Recently, Divine’s manager, Frodouard Uwifashije (Obededomu), faced backlash online, with accusations flying about him allegedly pushing for a rushed marriage deal in exchange for money. Divine was quick to defend her manager.

“My manager has been a great support since the beginning of my career. I was not aware of any money exchanged or deals made behind my back. These accusations are baseless, and I stand by him. He has my full trust,” Divine clarified.

Divine also announced the official date of her wedding.
“Our wedding will take place on January 10, 2026, and we are preparing with faith and joy. It will be a celebration of love and commitment before God, family, and friends,” she revealed.

When asked about her future in music, Divine was emphatic. “Music is my calling, and I intend to continue inspiring others through my songs. ‘Hozana’ was just the beginning. I am focused on my career and personal growth, and I trust that God will guide my path,” she said with determination.
