The young woman who recently completed her Master’s degree at the African Leadership University [ALU], they said goodbye to her in a ceremony held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Light Church.

Cherissa, who was an employee of the Bank of Kigali, passed away on November 3, 2024, at the age of 23, as she was born on October 26, 2001.

Cherissa’s mother said she had a hard time accepting her daughter’s death ’as it was the first time she lost a child’ and how she had to deal with it.

"It’s something you’re not used to, to say that next time I’m going to do it like that. It’s the first time I lost my child. Cherissa died and it’s new. I told them, can I touch her? They said No! Everything said No!”

She said her daughter’s death taught her that everyone should be prepared. In a memorial ceremony for her daughter’s life, this mother thanked everyone who helped her in such difficult times since the night of October 3, 2024 when she lost her daughter.

She says, "Death is terrible. I used to tell parents to pray and cover your people with the blood of God... don’t allow the death to leave us alone. Who are we to see people alike, the weak and the strong!"

She said that her daughter passed away between 3 and 4 p.m o’clock on Sunday, November 3, 2024, but she learned of the news around 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2024. She said, "Since it happened to this day, I see people who have helped us, hear me thank you."

The president of Healing Worship Ministry, formerly known as Healing Worship Team, Bude Kibonke Muhoza recently said to the media that Cherissa was a singer of Healing Worship Ministry for five years, and they did many things together, and that most of her time was dedicated to her studies and singing in the choir as an aspiring singer, draw near to Christ.
