Gospel artist Apophia Natukunda, also known as Apophia Posh, has officially tied the knot in a civil wedding ceremony with her fiancé Valens, as they prepare for their upcoming church wedding.
Apophia, known for her touching songs such as “Akira” and “Ushimwe,” exchanged vows before the law of Rwanda at the Remera Sector Office in Kigali City. The couple is set to hold their religious wedding on November 22, 2025, where they will exchange their eternal vows.
The singer, celebrated for her soothing and emotional voice that deeply touches gospel music lovers, appeared joyful and full of gratitude, thanking God for blessing her with a life partner with whom she will share her journey.
Apophia Natukunda accepted salvation in 2001. She began singing while still in primary school and later joined various born-again choirs. In 2007, she started writing songs for church choirs, and by 2017, she began releasing her own music.
Although she has been less active in recent years due to other commitments, having gone six years without releasing new music, Apophia remains one of the most talented gospel voices in Rwanda. Her music, often infused with African rhythms, includes songs like “Akira,” “Ushimwe,” “Arakwiye,” “It’s So Sweet,” “Love Letter,” and “No Not One.”
From 2017 onwards, Apophia made a significant mark in the gospel industry, earning a nomination among the top five female rising artists in the Groove Awards Rwanda 2017. That year, the award in that category was won by Jado Sinza.
