5 Best Ways to Live Peacefully with Your Enemies — Pastor Christian Gisanura

"If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you."
— Proverbs 25:21–22

This Scripture reveals a powerful and peaceful approach to living with your enemies. An enemy knows you are aware of the hostility between you, and therefore expects nothing good from you—only harm, just as he desires for you.

What you can do:

1. Put hatred aside on your part, but do not stop being cautious. Hatred clouds judgment—when it becomes too intense, your wisdom fades.

2. Think of something kind you can do for them, something that doesn’t look like bribery or an attempt to appease them out of fear.

3. Consider what they might need but are too proud to ask for, knowing you would likely ignore their request.

4. Go ahead and help them—quietly, without adding many words. Even if you’re burning inside with emotion, they will be the ones burning in confusion, wondering why you would help them.

5. Once the issue that caused the tension seems to be resolved, ask them if there’s anything else you can help with. They will reflect on their actions and realize they’re fighting someone far above their level. Their heart will soften, and they may start seeking reconciliation.

Yes, some people are hardened—radicalized even—completely under the control of Satan. Still, remember: you’re not doing this to protect yourself from enemies. You’re doing it to fulfill God’s will. In doing so, you bring God into your battles. What is beyond your ability, He will handle.

On your own, you can’t do this. You need Jesus to rule your heart and your thoughts. That means you must pray as you act—because the results will surprise you.

Shalom, Pastor Christian Gisanura
