Let's Focus on Heavenly Priorities in 2025

In 2025, Christians should prioritize the true purpose of the Great Commission instead of getting caught up in trying to make the church appealing to the world.

Many modern churches have shifted their focus to gaining approval from the world through superficial tactics, overlooking the core message of repentance, salvation, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Instead of trying to be "relevant" and liked, believers should emphasize bold, loving gospel preaching and keep their focus on eternal goals rather than seeking worldly approval.

1. The False Idea of Being “Too Heavenly Minded”:
Some believe that focusing too much on heavenly things makes someone ineffective on earth. However, the truth is, being overly focused on earthly matters prevents Christians from fully fulfilling their purpose for God’s kingdom.

2. Modern Churches Are Focused on Popularity:
Many churches focus on attracting people with worldly amenities like cafes, game rooms, and entertainment, instead of prioritizing the gospel and biblical teachings.

3. The Gospel is Sufficient:
The Gospel is powerful enough to save and transform lives. Efforts to make the church “relevant” often dilute the message of repentance and salvation.

4. Shallow Evangelism:
Many churches focus more on programs, activities, and positive reinforcement rather than preaching repentance, the judgment of God, and the need for salvation.

5. God’s Power, Not Gimmicks:
The early disciples relied on the power of the Holy Spirit to reach people, not on shallow tactics or superficial programs. Today’s churches should focus on the Holy Spirit’s work rather than trying to gain approval from the world.

6. The Danger of Seeking Approval from the World:
Many modern Christians have made being liked by the world an idol, which weakens the true message of the gospel. Jesus warned that the world would hate us, and we should prioritize faithfulness over popularity.

7. True Growth is Measured in Souls, Not Numbers:
Real growth in the church isn’t about filling seats but about winning souls for Christ. Programs and self-promotion should be replaced by zealous evangelism, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

8. Focusing on Heavenly Goals in 2025:
In 2025, Christians should focus on heavenly priorities — saving souls and glorifying God — rather than seeking to please the world. The church needs to return to its true calling: bold, loving witness and evangelism.

Let’s make 2025 the year we focus on God’s glory and the salvation of souls, rather than the desire for worldly approval. We must stop "playing church" and instead be the Church, committed to eternal values and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit.
