Israel Mbonyicyambu, popularly known as Israel Mbonyi, a celebrated gospel artist spreading the message of Jesus Christ, recently expressed his admiration for the song "Nzaguha Umugisha" by Bruce Melodie.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, Mbonyi showcased his heart for supporting fellow artists, sharing the song with his followers and writing: “I’ve heard such a beautiful song!” He included the link to the worship song, which is part of Bruce Melodie’s latest album, Colorful Generation, released on January 17, 2025. The album’s name symbolizes inclusivity, with songs that resonate with diverse preferences.
The song opens with a thought-provoking question:
“What makes you cry and feel hopeless? What makes you forget that I am the unshakable rock?”
The response follows with comforting words:
“Let tears cease to flow, hold on to unwavering faith. I’ve always loved you, and my child can attest to this.”
The artist continues with divine advice:
“When the enemy comes, read the Word, sing songs of praise, for he cannot harm you, I love you.”
After sharing this uplifting song with his audience, Mbonyi’s coach, Gael, who manages his interests, reminded him of the significant inspiration he has provided to Bruce Melodie. Gael commented: “Remember, you’re an inspiration, my brother.” He added that Bruce Melodie drew from Mbonyi’s songs to craft "Nzaguha Umugisha", a track designed to bless and uplift many, just as Mbonyi’s songs have touched countless hearts.
Bruce Melodie, known primarily as a secular artist and a Christian in the ADEPR Church, revealed this during a concert at Kigali Universe on Saturday night, December 21, 2024. Performing for an audience of about 500 attendees, he shared the stories behind each song from his album.
When he reached the 18th track, "Nzaguha Umugisha", Bruce explained that the song was deeply influenced by his faith and personal journey as a Christian. He openly acknowledged that listening to Israel Mbonyi’s works played a pivotal role in shaping the song. He said: “Israel Mbonyi is a remarkable artist. When writing this song, I studied many of his works and then composed mine.”
Bruce Melodie also affirmed his faith, stating in a previous interview: “People might not know this, but I am saved. Those who know me well understand how deeply my salvation influences my life.”
