In one night Israel Mbonyi spent 12 million Rwf to sleep in the Presidential Suite

Rwandan Gospel singer, Israel Mbonyi, when he was last in Kenya, he spent night in the room Barack Obama slept in, where one person pays 10 thousand dollars for one night.

This story that he spent the night in the same room Barack Obama slept in became popular in both Rwanda and Kenya, but those who made a deep analysis of this artist say that Rwandans still do not know that he is very champion compared to how Kenyans know.

The young man was received like a king when he arrived in Nairobi in Kenya, he was received by one of the famous people in organizing big concert who is called Big Ted and journalists of various local newspapers in Kenya.

When he arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), the news that he was received by the Spokesperson of the Government of Kenya quickly spread because it was a special thing. He was awaited by thousands of his fans, including his followers on social media who expressed their happiness that he came to Kenya.

He was going to perform at the ’Africa Worship Experience Concert’, which took place on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Lang’ata Road. The Ulinzi team from Kenya is the owner of that stadium.

While going from the Airport to the Hotel where he was supposed to stay, Israel Mbonyi’s car was accompanied by many others, with Police cars that were helping to make a way for other vehicles to pass.

The Sankara Hotel room where he stayed in Nairobi in the capital before the concert, was the Presidential Suite, where Barack Obama, who was the president of the United States of America for some time, slept there when he visited Kenya.

Collecting the money he paid himself and the group that accompanied him, local newspapers in Rwanda such as The Choice said: "One night he paid more than 12 million Rwandan francs, just to sleep."

Information from people who attended Israel Mbonyi’s concert, such as Alex Muyoboke, confirmed that the venue where he performed at the Ulinzi Stadium, which received 30,000 people, according to Reagan Rugaju, was fully booked and even some were complaining about tickets before.

Tickets for the concert, ’First-class VVIP’ tickets were 20 thousand Kenyan shillings (KSh 20,000), KSh 12,000 (VVIP), KSh 8,000 and KSh 3,000 for ordinary, but that did not stop them from filling up.
He is making great history in East African Gospel Music.
