Former star striker for top clubs and national team, Usengimana Danny, gets baptized in Canada, declares his faith in Jesus Christ.
Danny Usengimana, the former striker for the Rwanda national team Amavubi and several top clubs, has publicly declared his faith in Jesus Christ through water baptism in Canada, where he now resides with his family.
Taking to his social media platforms, Danny Usengimana shared a powerful video of the moment he was baptized, accompanied by a heartfelt message expressing his deep Christian faith and his commitment to walking with God.
“To Him Who Loved Us And Washed Us From Our Sins In His Own Blood
(Revelation 1:5) ”, he wrote.
Danny Usengimana moved to Canada in July 2023 to join his wife and begin a new chapter in life after stepping away from professional football. While no longer on the pitch as a player, his passion for football remains strong.
Together with fellow footballer Emmanuel Imanishimwe, commonly known as Mangwende, he co-founded a youth training center called Bright Football Academy, located in Rugende, Kicukiro District in Kigali, Rwanda.
Throughout his football career, Usengimana played for some of Rwanda’s most prominent clubs, including: Isonga FC, Police FC, APR FC
He also gained international experience, playing for Singida Black Stars in Tanzania and Tersana Sporting Club in Egypt.
Danny Usengimana’s baptism marks the beginning of a new journey, this time not on the football field, but in his walk with Christ. His public profession of faith has inspired many of his followers and fans, both in Rwanda and abroad.
