‘Shyigikira Bibiliya’ is a campaign launched to encourage Bible users and all those who love it to come together and support the Bible (Kinyarwanda Version) so that it will not be lost in Rwanda.
When the International Conference on the Development of Education in Christian Schools ACSI or Africa Round Table 2023 was concluded in the Dove hotel of ADEPR, the Representative of ADEPR Rev Pastor Ndayizeye Isaie was asked questions including those related to the campaign of ‘SHYIGIKIRA BIBILIYA’ campaign which is aimed at increment in bible production.
He was asked how the ADEPR Church is ready to mobilize its Christians to support the Bible, given that ADEPR is one of the churches with the most followers because they numbered about 3 million.
The head Pastor of ADEPR Rev Ndayizeye Isaie started by saying that ADEPR as a member of the Bible Society of Rwanda has this community at heart and knows the importance of the Word of God (Bible). The first thing they do is to encourage Christians to own the Bible, to read it, and to speak it well.
He said, "The first thing to donate to the Bible is to own, to read it, to use it and to share it with others, but the other thing is to give support because the funds that were given by foreign countries for the Bible to reach Rwanda are decreasing and that’s when the Churches should support the Bible."
He went on to say that the Church will play its part in supporting the Bible and that the members of the church, as they always have the spirit of volunteering to support Evangelical activities, also hope that they will participate in this activity because they will also be encouraged.
The senior Pastor of ADEPR, Rev Pastor Ndayizeye Isaie concluded by telling Christians that donating the Bible is making it your own and making a contribution to the Bible Society.
According to report from Bible Society of Rwanda, their supporters have dropped by 80%. And that is why the Bible price is very high. Supporting the Bible through this campaign will reduce this price and make Bible affordable to all Rwanda citizens.
