Israel Mbonyicyambu, who became known as Israel Mbonyi, a Rwandan singer who sings songs of worship and praise to God, after more than nine years, made a video of his song called ’Nzi ibyo Nibwira’ (I know what I think) but he changed it in Swahili with the name Malengo (Ya Mungu) God’s goals).
It’s a song about what you should do if you want to be accepted by God and to have the honor you receive from Him. ’Those things you would do nothing but seek God, and do them tirelessly.
He who wants to be accepted by God should not care about what people say or be ashamed when he is doing good because people themselves do not like him. Rather, he deserves the name given to him by God who created him.
He who seeks beauty should do good without ceasing. One of the words he says is ’I know what I think about you, it’s not bad it’s good. Go and comfort those who are suffering and tell them that there is a God who loves them, who will not change.
Go pray and pray again, because I will bless you.’ God met us in our sins and forgave us, promising us life.’
Most people who speak Kinyarwanda know this song well and memorized it, because it is a very popular song. It was the most popular of the other two that Israel Mbonyi uploaded on his YouTube channel, which are called ‘Hari Impamvu’ (There is a reason) and another one called ‘Ku Musaraba’ (On the Cross).
On September 20, 2014, he released the song, which shortly after surpassed the number of views of the other two that had preceded it. It currently has over 3 million views on YouTube. This time it was done in audio only.
In the year 2020, on June 24, he uploaded it again on YouTube but it is in the form of audio and video, which he recorded while he was singing for his fans, which is called live. Once again it became very popular, and its viewership numbers are rising, currently reaching over 3.5 million.
Today, December 15, 2023, he released it in audio and video format in Swahili. Now he called it Malengo (Ya Mungu) but what he is singing are very similar to what he sang in Kinyarwanda and the rhythm is the same. The new thing is that he sang it with others as part of the choir while he sang it alone in Kinyarwanda.
It is the fourth song he has done in Swahili, and the eighth he has done this year.
It is at the time and only ten days later he will be in a concert called Icyambu concert edition 2 (for the second time), which will be held in Kigali BK Arena on December 25, 2023, on Christmas Day.
Last year he also performed in the Kigali BK Arena and people were full. This year it will be more because the tickets have started to be bought.
