Ishimwe Vestine, who sings with Kamikazi Dorcas, began the process of seeking a divorce on September 14, 2026. She has now written a story explaining what she went through in her life
A heartbreaking story: Ishimwe Vestine revealed what she went through without changing anything.
“I would normally remain silent, as I usually do, and not tell you about this. But I have chosen to speak so that those of my age, or those who are growing up, will not go through what I went through without knowing about it. If you understand it, tell them about it, or go and show them and talk to them about this story of Ishimwe!
How it began...
She was a girl who grew up in a Christian family and in the church like many others. She studied and completed secondary school.
The day she finished school was the day she entered her wilderness. When she entered it, there was no water, especially because she did not have the opportunity to experience what is called life after school. She found herself in what seemed like an emotional trap.
She fell in love with someone who had known about her for a long time, while she did not know him very well. He took his time watching the star that had been shining for four years, and then decided to extinguish it as though it had never shone even once.
He used sweet words and sharp tricks. Maman’s daughter never noticed those terrible schemes or recognized the devil’s plan. Instead, she thought she was loved, although this was far from ordinary.
Her ears became closed. She avoided advice and stopped listening to the counsel of those who were older than her. Her emotions had taken control of her, without knowing that this man was already married, had another family and had other children.
The girl relied on what he told her and on the way he behaved like a person who had done nothing wrong. She therefore believed that this was genuinely the kind of person he was.
Listen carefully, my fellow believer, as I continue the story. Here comes my precious one, and let me remind you that she knew no other world except one filled with worshippers and people who fasted and washed their garments.
Quickly, she went home, and boom!! When she arrived there, she found terrible things. She chose to remain silent and endure, reading the Bible where it says that love endures all things and at all times.
She saw things that drove her almost out of her mind, to the point where she thought her life had come to an end because of what she witnessed every day. She could not even tell anyone—not her parents, her siblings, or her friends. Eventually, she began thinking that the way to escape what she was seeing was to commit suicide and leave this world. She thought about it many times.
But God kept using other ways to stop her. Glory to God. Instead of losing you, He would turn the situation around for you indeed!!
The reason God protected that girl was because there was a calling upon her life, and it was a powerful one—a calling that changed the lives of many people and had to continue changing lives.
Many times, that man tried to destroy the girl’s calling, but God did not allow it. He tried to stop her from going to concerts and from going to the studio. He even tried to separate her from the person she sang with, but that did not work.
He succeeded in separating her from her management, believing that the calling would come to an end. Yet that was when it had only just begun!!
When he realized that he could not stop the girl’s calling because it was God who had called her, he began thinking of what he could do to destroy her name. He started saying that the man whom she considered her father, and with whom she had spent about five years, was actually the father of her child, even though he knew in his heart that this was a lie.
He paid people—passersby and others—and told them: ‘Defame her completely. Make them accuse her of rape. And if that is not enough, tell the fools whom I have changed their lives about it.’ But my God!!
Did I tell you how they had their child!! In the midst of the difficult circumstances through which she was bringing this child into the world, nothing could stop her. She came. The mother and the child she was carrying, the Lord passed them through that man’s hands!!! She fled while pregnant and went to give birth in Canada.
She avoided showing him her child. During the conflict, she waited for a peaceful moment so that she could reveal his fruit to him. She continued waiting for the right opportunity for the father of the child to see his child, regardless of whatever resentment there might have been.
The man went all out, doing whatever he could, big and small, to destroy the girl’s reputation. He even paid as many dishonest people as possible to lie that she had built houses for their families, despite knowing the truth that she had done nothing of the sort.
But first, let me advise these people who spread news, although I certainly do not consider myself better than them. The shameful money you have eaten is truly dirty!! Yes, today he may help you with something, but it will not last. Tomorrow or the day after, you will have your own child, and that child may go through what the person you are defaming is going through.
It is then that I accepted that money really is the root of all evil!! The Holy Bible says: ‘For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.’ — 1 Timothy 6:10
Let me end here for now. I am writing this letter to encourage women and girls who are going through situations like the one this young woman went through. Be strong. God loves you, cares about you, and your lives are in God’s hands. Do not be afraid. He has not forgotten you, and He will make a way for you.
Those who are not yet married, be careful of people who come wearing sheep’s clothing while inside they are fierce wolves. Pray continually, and you will have good marriages. Do not allow what you see to discourage you. Instead, learn from it; it will help you. God loves you and will not abandon you.
The One who was with Ishimwe through nights of tears, when her pregnancy was almost lost, is still there and is able. If circumstances allow her, she will give her testimony, and it is a valuable lesson to teach the young generation, especially those in churches.
Woman who is crying, take courage and embrace life.
Dear friend of Ishimwe and her sister Kamikazi, you who pray for them so that the anointing within them does not run dry, may God enlarge you. Pray intensely now. The battle is more difficult than before, but at least those who are fighting have now opened their eyes, and they will never long for the food of Egypt again.
Very soon, their greetings will come in another letter called #IBIHE!
‘Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced.’
